A 40-plus year resident at the Gateway Center of Monterey County, Paul has autism and significant intellectual disabilities. With minimal speech and inability to read and write or focus on many tasks, Paul has lived a fairly quiet life, enjoying walks and collecting trinkets and keys.
At around age 65, Paul discovered Art Abilities and has since blossomed into an amazing watercolor artist. His extraordinary tactile and color senses enable him to produce vibrant, flowing works with a distinct, gentle visual identity. The depth and quality of his process continues to develop.
