A Little About Me

Hello and welcome to Art Abilities

I'm Ritika - founder and executive director of Art Abilities - a nonprofit that helps kids and adults with different abilities build creative expression using art as a medium.

I have been teaching art for the past 20 years. About three years ago, I started teaching art to people who are at a disadvantage, and my life changed. I knew art has healing qualities, but seeing the impact of personalized art in my student's life made me feel blissful and fulfilled.

Knowing that we can do much of this needed work at a larger scale, I'm starting a nonprofit, Art Abilities, to take this work to a national level. As every big thing starts small, our current scope of work is Monterey county, but as we grow, we will expand to a state level and beyond.
